2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Delivering the Service: Processing your uploaded documents, generating curriculum analyses, and producing reports as requested by you.
- Product Improvement: Analyzing aggregated, de-identified usage patterns to improve platform features, performance, and the user experience. We may track which features are most used, where users encounter friction, and how analyses are configured — but we do this at an aggregate level and not by inspecting your individual documents.
- Communication: Sending service-related notices, responding to support requests, and providing updates about platform features or policy changes.
- Security: Detecting and preventing unauthorized access, fraud, and other security threats.
3. Personally Identifying Information (PII)
We recognize that curriculum documents may incidentally contain personally identifying information such as instructor names, student names, or contact information. While our platform may process this information as part of an uploaded document, we do not extract, index, store separately, or use any PII found within your uploaded content for any purpose other than delivering the analysis you have requested.
PII collected as part of your account (name, email, affiliation) is used solely for account management and communication. It is never sold, rented, or used for marketing by third parties.
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or institutional data with any third parties, except in the following limited circumstances:
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or other governmental request.
- Protection of Rights: We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others, or to investigate fraud.
- Service Providers: We may share limited technical data with trusted service providers (e.g., cloud hosting, error monitoring) who are contractually bound to use such data only on our behalf and in accordance with this Privacy Policy. These providers are vetted for compliance with applicable data protection requirements.
Under no circumstances do we share uploaded curriculum content, institutional documents, or analysis results with any third party.
5. No Use of Data for AI Training
We do not use your uploaded content, analysis results, or any personally identifying information to train, fine-tune, or improve AI or machine learning models. See our Terms of Service for additional detail on this commitment.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your data only for as long as necessary to provide the service and fulfill the purposes described in this policy. Upon termination of your account or at your request, we will securely delete your uploaded content and account information within thirty (30) days. Aggregated, de-identified usage data that cannot be linked to any individual or institution may be retained for product improvement purposes.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256)
- Role-based access controls and multi-factor authentication
- Regular security assessments and monitoring
- Multi-tenant data isolation at the architectural level
8. Cookies & Tracking
Our website may use essential cookies required for platform functionality (e.g., session management, authentication). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. Any analytics tools used operate on aggregated, anonymized data.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Export your uploaded content and analysis results at any time
- Opt out of non-essential communications
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active users via email or in-platform notification at least thirty (30) days before they take effect.
